My name is Melisha Patterson-Collins, Founder and CEO of Bridgepoint Consulting Solutions, LLC.  As a wife and the mother of a 27-year-old daughter, I understand firsthand the importance of advocacy, support, and informed decision-making in a child’s developmental journey. With a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, multiple certifications in Mental Health, and professional credentialing through NASET (National Association of Special Education Teachers), formal training through COPAA (Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates), and as a certified Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Specialist, I bring an informed, ethical, and standards-based approach to every family I serve.

With over two decades of experience supporting families throughout New York City and Long Island, I specialize in connecting children to the services, supports, and programs they need to thrive.  I most recently worked as a NYC/Long Island CSE Family Support/Intake Coordinator, where I worked directly with families navigating the special education and residential placement process. In this role, I collaborated with the Committee on Special Education (CSE), conducted intake screenings, assisted parents in understanding their child’s educational options, and coordinated services to ensure each child received individualized support tailored to their needs.

My professional journey also includes extensive work in parent training, facilitating parent support groups, crisis response, and serving as a liaison between families, school districts, and residential programs. This comprehensive exposure has provided me with a unique bird’s-eye view of the mental health and special education systems—allowing me to understand their complexities, anticipate challenges, and navigate resources with clarity and confidence.
